Whether you can dye these dresses or not depends on what they're made of, and on whether they are washable. "Satin" and "taffeta" can be made from many different fibers. A really high quality satin or taffeta will be made of natural silk, but, if you don't know what the dresses are made of, they are probably polyester or nylon.
