Can you dye clothes with a Sharpie?

—ADVERTISEMENTS—

Fabric Markers

A Sharpie marker can be used to temporarily color small sections of clothing. It contains pigments, rather than dyes, and will gradually fade in the laundry, though it will never wash out completely.

Markers labeled specifically for use on fabric will last much longer. Try a fabric marker, such as the ones made by Fabricmate or Marvy.

The best and easiest way to dye cotton clothing is with fiber reactive dye.
